Welcome to the IAFF Carmel Professional Firefighters Local 4444 Website! Local 4444 is a labor organization that represents firefighters, paramedics and officers employed by the Carmel Fire Department with a total of 149 members. The Carmel Fire Department is a paid municipal department comprised of sworn/uniformed personnel (9 of whom are sworn/administrative staff members). In addition, the department has 8 full-time and 2 part-time civilian/administrative staff members. The Department serves a jurisdiction of more than 51 square miles and an estimated City/Township population of more than 80,000.

Our commitment to our craft, along with our Carmel/Clay leaders, ensure that our education/ training programs and the necessary equipment are provided to our professional personnel allowing us to perform fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous material remediation and mitigation, fire prevention and many other important community and departmental services… second to none.
