The Story of Local 4444’s Commitment to Carmel
The Carmel Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4444 was officially organized on March 1, 2005, marking a significant milestone in the history of the Carmel Fire Department. Our union was formed with a clear purpose—to protect the rights, well-being, and safety of the firefighters, paramedics, and officers who serve the Carmel community.
Since our founding, IAFF Local 4444 has been dedicated to advocating for fair wages, improved working conditions, and the highest standards of training and equipment for our members.
We have worked hand in hand with city leaders, department officials, and the community to ensure that the men and women who risk their lives in service receive the support and resources they need to do their jobs effectively.
Over the years, our organization has grown in strength and unity. Through collective bargaining, community outreach, and a commitment to excellence, we have played a key role in shaping the future of fire service in Carmel. Beyond the firehouse, our members are actively involved in charity work, safety education, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all residents.
As we look ahead, IAFF Local 4444 remains committed to its mission of protecting both our firefighters and the community we serve. Our history is one of dedication, perseverance, and service—and we are proud to continue that legacy for generations to come.
